bike ride

Yesterday's weather was so nice that Katie and I decided to go for a bike ride. Since we planned on stopping over at my parents for dinner we decided to hit up the Lexington Bike trail.
I scrambled around my basement and found my pump in the most appropriate place behind the water heater? Any way I filled the tires and attached the bike rack (tow hitch setup) and we hit the road.

Upon entering the old towne of Lexington we parked and took the bikes down. Katie and I run into an issue, big issue! Katie's bike seat would not got down. After 5 minutes of struggling (no I was not weating a bike helmet , I can just imagine your mental images) to get the seat off I went to CVS and picked up WD-40. After oiling up the bike the seat was yanked off. Unfortunately the bottom of the seat post was partially bent. That prevented the seat from going down. The seat was so high Katie couldn't touch the ground and barely reach the pedals. So bike ride was squashed and we took a casual stroll.

Long journey and fairly long blog post for no bike ride. Could be worse at least Katie's bike still has wheels

Heart Attack Waiting to Happen

I just ate one of the most innovative lunches ever. I describe it as the heart attack waiting to happen. Muncheez present's: The Donut Burger.
Muncheez is really close to my house and until recently only thought of this establishment as regular pizza joint in Worcester. Things all changed when I saw a recent episode of the Phantom Gourmet. This episode featured Muncheez and the Donut Burger.

A sugar coated plain donut serves as the bread for the burger. Packed inside is a burger, bacon, cheese, and onion rings. Yeah you read that correctly!
The donut was warm and sweet simply spectacular. Unlike most buns the donut didn't fall apart.
The actual burger tasted good but to tell you the truth I think the bacon spoiled it for me. I know that is sacrilege as bacon always makes food taste better. I don't know if it was the contrasting salt and sugar but just thought it was better without. Perhaps if was maple flavored bacon it could have enhanced the burger. Any way one of the most interesting lunches I have ever had!

Not religious

I just read a small article on boston.com ranking states on religious practices. As expected New England is the least religious. While the deep south are religious. Seeing the numbers made me laugh. By the way I don't consider myself religious. For more comedy read the comments. Thrilling internet debate.

Chilling at Panera

I enjoy Panera. Good free internet, hot coffee, good sandwiches, and awesome cinnamon rolls. I am finishing off my brunch and then I am off to Orlando for the rest of the week. I have a feeling new year's eve will be low key. Adios

No Cable

So right now we are on Day Three of interrupted services. It's amazing how the essentials of life are taken away and how you have to fight to Survive. That's right we have no cable.  I have adapted by viewing previously record shows on my DVR, playing video games, watching movies, and dread the thought "reading".

On a serious note Katie and I have had quite a few friends without any power the last few days. Which I can attest has made this past weekend not so great. See my friend Bill's Twitter updates (no power in two houses for a while was no good)

Right now we have taken in a refugee named Kevin. Hopefully his town of Oakham will recover from the Ice Storm devastation and he can move back home :-)
P.S. Just noticed a tree in our back yard up rooted and is leaning down the hill.  Therefore our privacy from our back neighbors has greatly diminished...picture to  be posted later.

I took some more photo's during my lunch break. The sun just started to come out and the ice is melting really quickly.  Check out the rest on my Ice Storm web album
