The Vessyl is a new cup that detects what you are drinking. Mark One has developed the Vessyl cup to manage the impact of what individuals consume.  The vessyl cup will help manage your hydration, caffeine, sugar, and other health attributes.  Additionally you can sync your Vessel cup to your iPhone or Android device to track your intake.

Industry: The Vessyl cup is a continuation of consumer products to help manage one's health. These health products that allow users to self monitor are all part of the Quantified Self movement: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantified_Self

Political ads/ late night tv does not mix

In my home my wife & I watch tv in bed. Typically I put the TV sleep timer on before turning over to get some sleep. The main reason is for Katie. TV before bed helps her sleep and prevents the brain from being consumed with (1 * 10^6) thoughts. I personally don't like but marriage is a compromise

Now lately TV has been bombarded with political ad's. Since I do most TV watching during night News programs it's to much for me to handle. The political ads in Florida are so exaggerated and the mud slinging drives me nuts. I get so irrigated from both political parties I have to change the channel or just turn the tv off.
That is the reason for this post, its past 1:30 AM and I was watching late night with Jimmy Fallon. During each commercial break I keep hearing these political ad's. It's just driving me nuts and I would turn the tv off but I am far too amped up (went to bed early then woke up and can't sleep). I would end up just trying to sleep but will be restless. That situation just causes issues for Katie or anyone else to get a good night's sleep.
Arggh just needed to vent. I wonder if I will edit this post in the morning? My grammer skills have always been poor and hover around the 7th grade level. I know for a fact my writing skills deteriorate later at night. Where would I be without the automatic spell check in my internet browser?!?

Interesting Opinion on Glen Beck rally

Interesting Op-ed column on Beck rally.
I found this a good quote
"Now more than ever, Americans love leaders who seem to validate their way of life. This spirit of self-affirmation was at work in evangelicals’ enduring support for Bush, in the enthusiasm for the Dean campaign among the young, secular and tech-savvy, and now in the devotion that Palin inspires among socially conservative women. The Obama campaign raised it to an art form, convincing voters that by merely supporting his candidacy, they were proving themselves cosmopolitan and young-at-heart, multicultural and hip."

Iphone visual voicemail

So my wife mentioned she had issues with her iPhone voicemail's. A few people mentioned they had left voicemails but Katie never received the voicemail's. Turns out her voicemail had not worked for about a month! Any way after searching the internet figured out her issue and resolved the issue. Below is the solution

go to settings, general.
scroll down to see if you have something called, "profile".
if you do, click on it. then REMOVE IT!!!
then RESET NETWORK SETTINGS.

Craigslist is always entertaining

So was reading craigslist today and saw this post
" places to skinny dip (worcester)"

I guess it is a good place to ask the question but I would love to see the responses this person must receive. I had a few suggestions (The pond behind Moe's burrito, Lake Quinsigamond by Vinny T's cause who wouldn't want to someone naked while eating a pound of pasta and chicken parm)

If anyone is bored check out craigslist for laughs.

Raaaaaaaandy

Aziz put out the three part documentary about his character Randy. I think the first part is the best.

Don't forget to check out Randy's site www.laughyourdickoff.com

Mac mini microphone problem

So about a month ago I tried to use a microphone on my fairly new mac mini. I was trying to use Skype to make a call to South Africa. I was having issues and figured it was some weird issue with the microphone.
This week installed Rosetta Stone and had to use the microphone again. I tried three different microphones and had no luck. I called Apple support (day 89 of my 90 days of free call in support) and after about 20 minutes they told me I needed a "powered" microphone or use a USB microphone. Apparently it has something to do with my mac mini being Energy Star approved and not using extra power for the line input. Quite lame.
Luckily the Rosetta Stone came with a USB microphone.
Nothing quite interesting just wanted to vent

Happy Birthday to Me

Today I turned 29 years young. I received many birthday wishes mostly due to Facebook.
I even received one birthday wish from a famous hip-hop rapper /producer /author /fashionista Kanye West. I can't believe Kanye remembered my birthday! Something tells me Kanye sent over a pair of Air Yeezy's.

Zack Morris ( Mark-Paul Gosselaar) on Jimmy Fallon

Great clip from Jimmy Fallon last night with Zack Morris. Funny stuff and way to commit. I assumed Mark-Paul dyed his hair back to blond.

Food locations from "down south" roadtrip

I have compiled a list of favorite meals from recent trip down south. I think it speaks volume's the two most authentic non-fancy places (Ike's and Jestine's Kitchen) do not have websites.

Ike's Korner Grill
Spartanburg, South Carolina

I had a cheeseburger plate with fresh cut fries and a side of cole slaw, all washed down with a cup of sweet tea (sweetened ice tea for the non tea drinkers). Great start to the road trip with a semi-greasy lunch.

From Peerless

Johnson City,Tennessee
Katie and I shared the fillet mignon for two with asparagus and potatoes on the side.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nashville, TN
Great BBQ I was quite impressed. I had the 3 combo plate including Tennessee Pork Shoulder, Texas Beef Brisket, and Smoked Chicken! Don't forget the great sides Mac & Cheese and Baked Beans.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Savannah, GA
Served the best refined meal of the trip. Garibaldi's is known for various seafood dishes. Katie and I started our dinner in Savannah with a mixed green salad combining granny smith apples, reduced vinaigrette, pecans, blue cheese crumbles, and topped with fabulous scallops.
For an entree I had the red snapper with risotto. Katie had her favorite linguini with clams.

From Jestine's Kitchen

Jestine's Kitchen
Charleston, SC

Katie and I spent only a couple of hours of Charleston and I'm glad we waited in line to eat Jestine's Kitchen. Our meal began with an appetizer of fried green tomato's which I finished in about two minutes.
Katie had an interesting lunch combination consisting of a plate of fried chicken with a side of mac & cheese and watermelon. The waitress was a bit confused by the contrasting sides but Katie wanted her watermelon. I ordered the Cajun Creole.
I have to mention the lovely waitstaff again. As I was eating some of Katie's chicken in a nice southern accent a waitress told me "stop messing with that silverware and eat that chicken with your hands"

The highlight for me was dessert. I ordered a pecan pie that was the best I ever had. The pecans were minced and the crust delicious. Katie ordered a coconut cream pie. After that meal we left completely full and satisfied.

Funny Things from the Road Part 2

Funny stuff I have noticed on the drive from Nashville down to Atlanta.

 1. Firework stores! Ongoing theme throughout the south. Largest supermarket type stores biggest so far Tennessee-Alabama Fireworks.
 2. The Towing and Receiving hall of Fame and Museum. This place was near Rock City and I wanted to go inside. After looking at the website probably glad I didn't spend the $8 to go inside. I can imagine the 2009 induction ceremony giving an award to a Towing company that hires nice and friendly people (and women)!
 3. Side bar while at Rock City overheard this boy (6-9 year old) ask his mom if she could go squeeze through the rock walk way. Kids say the darndest things!
 4. Lions Den: Adult Fuel and Food superstore!
 5. The number of blown out tires in the driving lanes in Georgia (I-75 south). My count was around 8.
